Though working with wood is not my career, there's something very satisfying when you gather the needed materials, and then turn them into a completed project. That type of satisfaction isn't limited to woodworking, but I think woodworking is special.

Why? Perhaps a man feels slightly in danger when he rips boards through the table saw, adventurous when mapping out his building plans, and a sense of pride as his first glimpse of the finished piece emerges.

I don't use the word "he" to suggest that only men can enjoy this craft, but it describes my feelings about it...it feels masculine. However, I would say it's for anyone who wants to do it.

Woodworking has such a wide array of avenues one can take. It can be as complicated or as simplistic as the vision it seeks to achieve. And personally, I love it all. I'm drawn to beautiful pieces of furniture with complicated carvings and joinery, while at the same time I love the types of projects found on Pinterest using scrap pallet wood.

My name is Anthony, and I live in Mississippi. I love to walk in my shop, and enjoy the aroma of fresh sawdust, and fresh cut wood. That's the inspiration for the name of this website. I have the site divided up with only 3 labels. Projects, Tools, and Life. The 'life' label is for the occasional off-topic post.
