Steve Ramsey's Basic Mobile Workbench

This is the first project that I completed from Steve Ramsey's course, The Weekend Woodworker. The BMW, serves as a work surface for multi-purpose use. The 'bench' is built with very basic storage on the bottom, and places on casters to make it easy to roll around in the shop.

Nothing stands out about the project to make it particularly pleasing to the eyes, but the purpose of this is not to dress up the shop. It's to be useful, and that it is. The frame is basic(as in the name), but it's also very sturdy. Enough so to use for most tasks, such as hammering, clamping, etc. I love the fact that it's on casters.

A half a sheet of 3/4" plywood makes the top. Cut that in half and glue it together before attaching it to the frame. That makes a nice, thick, heavy surface to work.

This was a fun project, that's low on the difficulty rating. Now the fact that I have a table saw made it much easier to get accurate cuts. However, I would not hesitate to jump in this with a circular saw. This BMW may actually be one of the most useful tools I own now.
