This is a project for a friend. She asked me to make her a sun with pallet wood, providing me with an example she got from Pinterest. She already had a few pallets at her house, and I went by and got them.
First, I cut the boards in these 'pie piece' shapes, and fit them together. For the circle part, I used some scrap plywood I had laying around.
I actually glued these boards to 1/8" piece of plywood. After squaring up the edges, I used some 1x2's to make a frame for the piece.
After several coats of spray lacquer, wa-la.
