Basic Lumber Wall Rack For Getting Your Lumber Stash Out of the Way

Without a place to store extra boards, I'm convinced it's impossible to keep a woodworking space in enough order to work without re-arranging every time there's a project at hand. Oh man, I've moved stuff around and re-arranged until the motivation to work completely fades away. That's why it's important to come up with these types of solutions to the basics. Now I'll say, until fairly recently, my idea of building something with wood didn't require a dedicated space. But now that I've started acquiring tools that are more stationary in nature, it reasons to have a dedicated shop space. So like many of my fellow hobbyists, I have 1/2 a 2-car garage to work with. So the goal was simply this: put the boards somewhere that I can get to without too much headache, put them where I'm not stepping over them, nor have to move them to use any certain tool. A simple rack on the wall seems like the best solution.

Ridgid R4512 - Smooth and Quiet Table Saw

I finally got a table saw. I've toyed with the idea for quite a while, but have held off until I was able to get what I wanted. I decided early on the steer clear of the job site saws, because of their noise level. Since I live in town on a heavily populated street, I want to do the best I can to keep the noise down, However, the drawback to getting a stationary saw, is the lack of shop space that I have. But in the end, I decided since the table saw would be one of the most used tools I have, I'd make room for it.

Having Trees Cut Close to the House

I've always liked the trees in our yard. Unfortunately, they don't last forever. Especially pines trees. We had two trees cut this weekend. I've known several guys over the years from work who cut trees as a side hustle. I think very highly of these guys, however one of the trees, which was very tall and mature, was within 6 feet to the house. My gut told me I probably want to get someone who cuts trees for a living. I found the right guy.

Tool Box Restoration

This old toolbox spent years in a shed, completely ravaged by the elements. Painting it didn't make it function any better, but it sure brought the appearance up a few notches.

Re-Painting my Tail Gate Letters

The letters on this tail gate were completely trashed. Of course, the truck is over 20 years old as it's a 1995 Chevy Z71. Almost all the original black background was gone after years of being in sunshine, rain, whatever else. My first move was to get it all taped off. I used regular masking tape directly over the letters, then used a razor blade to cut out the shapes.

Conceal Carry Class

The world is getting more and more crazy. I have no intention of toting a gun around everywhere I go, however there are times and places where I need the boost of confidence and level of security a firearm provides. Yes, it's a warm feeling.
